Vale do Lobo Royal
Royal Golf Course at Vale do Lobo resort, has rolling fairways set amidst pine trees and beautiful lakes surrounded by wild flowers. Its features include the almost island green of the 9th and the famous 16th, with cliff-top carryover - one of the most celebrated golfing images in the world, which has become the veritable symbol of golf in the Algarve.|The Royal Golf Course was designed by top American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, based on original drawings made by Sir Henry Cotton. It was inaugurated in 1997.

Design of the holes is very nice to play.
However you feel more in down town, than on a golf course.
At the moment al lot of contruction of even more villas.
You even have to walk across public streets with your trolley :-)
Maintenance of fairways, greens and bunkers was very good,
but for us, the fairway was nearly on first cut hight...
2nd 9 is a bit more quiet..the signature hole 16 is cool, but no more.
For us, Vale do Lobo has a big name, but is far behind ohter courses here in Algarve.

As with the Ocean, one of our "go to" courses in the Algarve. Superb clubhouse and facilities, wonderful fair but challenging courses, in excellent condition, set in stunning locations. New members to our party playing these for the first time were equally impressed.

We had the first tee time at 7:10am but the coffee shop was not open at 7am as expected, slightly frustrating. The course is great and in good condition.

Superb. Hard to choose the better between Ocean and Royal course, but perhaps just for the iconic 16th Royal gets my vote. Great day, course was in great condition, if only my game was as good as!

What a place! The Royal Golf Course is absolutely stunning – the condition is spot on from tee to green. Fairways like carpets, greens running true, and every hole just feels special. You can tell loads of care and pride goes into keeping it in such amazing shape.
And then there’s the clubhouse… wow. Pure class! It’s stylish, welcoming, and the perfect spot to relax after a round. Great food, great service, and a really friendly vibe that makes you want to stay for hours.
Honestly, it’s one of those courses that gives you the full package – top-class golf and a clubhouse to match. Can’t wait to come back!

*Water hazards - Yes on both 9's, easily seen from tees
*Tree Lined - Yes, with Pines
*Dogleg - Couple on the back 9
*Comments - Excellent course, one of Algarve's best
