Enjoyed the course but it's showing signs of wear after the summer. Noted many pitch marks on greens and always repaired more than my own. Play was slow today, partly due to a pro-am, so we only managed 14 holes in twilight, so a better discount should be available for twilight games.

We found Millennium in good condition, it is a good enjoyable layout, holes 3 to 7 are excellent. Booking was easy, no problems with teetimes and the course was beautiful.
It was just all very rushed, they’d given out buggies to a large group which meant when I went to get my buggy, I was waiting until 2 minutes before my tee time to get it, and then told to hurry up. Wasn’t impressed by the rush considering how much money we paid
It seems like the group want to maximise profits at the expense of a relaxing holiday round of golf
Course was great just far to rushed and felt like I was always being watched and rushed forward

Some holes are pretty spectacular, especially on the front nine. Back nine are interesting. The complete experience cannot be achieved at the moment due to the soft opening
Mark Hughes
2023-11-14
This was my second time playing Ombria, as I played earlier this year during a “soft opening”. The course itself is good. The front nine is the more interesting with a good variety of holes, with water crisscrossing some fairways and some tees raised high up. The back 9 is more open allowing you to open your shoulders. Greens were good and receptive, but unfortunately there were a lot of unrepaired pitch marks, perhaps at checkin and or the starter could reinforce the need to repair these. A lot of the courses provide free pitch mark repairers maybe something Ombria should consider?
The course has still yet to acquire a license so there is no bar or food facilities available in the club House or a drinks buggy, however there is a wagon selling drinks/snacks before your round.
The course is still to be mapped, so I suggest you carry a range finder otherwise you’ll be guessing quite a lot!
I’ve given the course 7, due to lack of facilities and that there is still a considerable amount of building work being undertaken.

I really like this course but it is very frustrating that they have still not resolved the GPS issue to allow our Garmin watches to function. We spend too much time asking other players for distance estimates. At the very least, they should have many more distance plaques/posts on the fairways. Toilets should also be installed on the course as it’s not practical or always possible to return to the clubhouse. It’s also a pity that the clubhouse is still not open for drinks/coffees.

Very well presented and visually stunning course though in need of side distance markers and not just inset in the middle of some fairways. On and off course signage poor..Golf checkin reception a considerable disstance away from the car park as it is buiilt on a hillside. No refreshment buugy came round as promised. Staff need more training to handle 'groups'.
Hole 1 - dangerous as players approach from your left on Hole 8.
Hole 18 - a weak finishing hole (Stroke Index 18) that is short and plays away from the Clubouse.
A buggy is essential as simply not walkable. In areas the buggy path became quite conjested as you as they weave up the hills on the from nine slowing down play.
Worth the €83.00 paid for a game with the Society.

Course layout is very nice but many par 3s. However some are tricky due to elevation changes and might benefit from signs with suggestions (2 clubs down, etc). Wind can be a factor as well, but we played in calm warm weather (perfect). Be prepared to lose balls, and ladies hold your bladder - no restrooms on the course (yet?). The complex is still under construction so there will be a learning curve for services. People we interacted with were very helpful and pleasant. The course layout can be confusing, so look at the map and follow signs. Still a beautiful layout.

Welcome was good, was able to tee off early as the course was quiet in the afternoon. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The course overall was in good conditions, tee boxes, fairways etc but the greens were not great. Looks like they had either suffered very badly over the winter or had been prepared in some way to regenerate growth for the new season. They were flat, a bit bobbly, but very little grass on them and not giving you a positive impression at all. When I played in November they were in good condition.

Pro shop staff were very efficient and helpful and so were the drinks staff and buggy masters.
However, cramming over 700 golfers on a course meant a round that took over 5 hours and a 13.48 tee time putting out in the dark on the 18th. Greens were terrible and slow and looked like they hadn’t been cut that day. Bunkers had hardly any sand in. Not what I remembered from Vila Sol 15 years ago. I think I need to avoid this time of year if I come back as the staff were excellent and I can’t fault them, but the overall value is not reflective of the prices charged. Groups behind us wouldn’t have even got to finish the round so we were lucky in that respect.

The weather for the week of our golf trip was awful however the forecast for the day we had planned to not play golf was looking promising so we did a last minute booking at Pine Cliffs and decided to have a pairs texas scramble for a bit of fun. It's not a course that will see regular groups of golfers, it's more of a holiday resort set-up for families and guests staying at the hotel. The facilities are very good, service was ok and the course despite not being long or particularly challenging was in good condition. The greens were better than most that we played on this years golf trip. Don't expect a quick round, we made it to the par 3 6th across the ravine to find 3 other groups already waiting to tee off. Handicap certs clearly not required, some entertainment can be had watching the first tee with a beer in your hand after you've finished.

Short course - lovely setting
The Old Course - the name saying it all. Situated in the heart of the Vilamoura seaside resort a mere 20-minute drive from Faro airport, this Frank Pennink designed parkland style layout is one of the oldest in the region and renowned all over the golfing world. Often described as the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, it meanders throughout impressive pinetrees - the principal hazard - over gently undulating natural terrain.|In addition to raising the Vilamoura Old Course to new heights of quality, an attractive new clubhouse and adjacent putting green were also built at that time. Very good course, but some bad conditions because of last day storm.

Group of 8 played the day after storm Bernard and no buggies were allowed. The starter also confused many player with placing at bunkers which really meant bunkers were out of play. Green conditions were very good and the several trees down were taped off. Glad we got a game in but charging 7 euros each for pull carts on the day was a bit over the top on a course that was just about playable. Some of our players struggled without the buggy and No offer was made to change our booking to another day. We are also regular visitors to Dom Pedro Courses but this time experience rating is only 5/10

excellent course, a little tired around the edges, paths in particular need some attention. Playing surface was great though.

I found them most unhelpful.
Having rented the clubs I requested a different putter which they couldn’t supply. As it was raining heavily I requested a towel to dry the buggy seat which they couldn’t supply.
They gave out because i started at 7.57 instead of waiting in the rain until 8.00 am.
The volume of water that is falling is rendering the course and greens unplayable and I came in after 12 holes. As you can probably guess overall the experience was disappointing.

Another excellent golf course in great condition. A tough challenge due to the number of trees overhanging the length of each hole, hit it straight or struggle!! As with Victoria, great staff and very well organised from start to finish. Only issue was the length of the round, over 5 hours, where the marshal should have done something about the slow play a couple of groups ahead of us. We had to wait on most holes and at one stage we had 3 groups on one tee box.

Second time we played it in this trip. Very enjoyable, but vaet paths really need work, for a world class golf course its embarrassing to have such terrible paths. Pace of play was excellent.

Very nice layout. Pleasure to play. Cart paths are very dated and need a major rebuild. As usual, these guys play games with the tee placement. Everything is pushed forward. Got done in 4 hours so can't complain too much.
