Dom Pedro Hotels & Golf Collection has always recognized the need to introduce improvements that are fundamental to a good playing experience on its golf courses, raising their quality and living up to the standards set by sustainable development.
The renovation of Dom Pedro Laguna Course, managed by Rui Grave, was based on three pillars: sustainability, promotion of biodiversity, and improvement of course quality.
Laguna Golf Course in Vilamoura - Algarve , laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere. Many previous visitors will recognise it as part of the former 27-hole Vilamoura III course.|It includes several lakes which influence play on a total of 11 holes. In addition to acting as hazards and emergency water reservoirs, these lakes serve a useful purpose in attracting a variety of aquatic birds, both resident and migratory, as well as amphibians, otters, terrapins etc.|Vilamoura's master developers, Lusotur, have also established an environmental nature park not far from the course. Apart from the lakes and an impressive total of 79 bunkers, another hazard is the wind that frequently blows over this somewhat exposed location.
Scruffy rough to long couldn’t find the ball just off the fairway in some places
The course was overall in good condition. The only real criticism was regarding slow play,a 5hr round is not good!!Obviously the power's to be are not addressing this issue, apparently this is throughout the Dom Pedro group in Vilamoura..

Course a little challenging; to make a least a second time to develop the best strategy. Greens to be improved
wE STILL HAD THE ISSUE OF THE ROUGH LOOKING FOR OUR GOLF BALLS 5 HOURS IT TOOK TO COMPLETE THE ROUND..NO ISSUE WITH BUGGIES.
The rough for a resort course was to severe for handicap holiday golfers. There were no buggies availabe for our teetime and 8 of our group had to walk the front 9 only for that we wouldn,t have got finished . After a long exchange with the manager that evening after our round he agreed to let us have the buggies the following day at the twilight rate.
Very tough course for the average golfer
Very disapointed by the organisation. We were in time, but a flight of 4 was 25 min to late. The caddymaster let them start before us,so that we could not play the last 3 holes because of the dark. We were a flight of 3 and must wait very offen....
We ended up teeing off 30 minutes late due too course over booking buggies, so this made us miss the last 2 holes ( too dark to play!) greens very bumpy, I would recommend Millennium instead of Laguna .
Very enjoyable days golf. Good course with a good mix of holes. Staff helpful and friendly. Only down side was that there were many bunkers that previous players had been in but not bothered to rake, massive footprints, that's just poor player etiquette
Great course in super finish!
Nice course and it was in good condition.
*Undulated - 1st nine holes
*Dogleg - Minor amount of Par 4's
*Exposed - Very, wind conditions play a big part
*Buggy Recommended - If Essential
*Water hazards - On both 9's
*Links Course - Probably not near enough to the coastline to be links, but back 9 plays is links style
*Parkland - Front 9
*Signature Hole - 9th
*Comments - Good test, with well placed bunkers and water hazards
