Very good service, rooms very good. Food at breakfast very good. However, bar service at night generally not good i.e. bar staff talking amongst themselves, slow service, and on last night (Oct 12), bar ran out of beer!!!!!!! Not good!!!!!

Dom Joao 11 is a good hotel for our golf trip, I have stayed at the hotel 6 or 7 times both on golf trips and family holidays, check in was efficient, as we were early our rooms were not available, but easy storage of clubs and luggage, bar is expensive and we do not use, breakfast is fine
Location is perfect for the course we played, and the choice of restaurants and bars in Alvor is great - we had a great time

I have arranged for a group of senior golfers to visit Alvor on many occasions in the past - we have always, without fail, fully enjoyed our visit at the Pestana Hotels at Alvor, mainly the Dom Joao 2. Non of my group drew my attention to any faults and they all, this time, as in the past, have said how good the Hotel was, both in the facilities available - garden, view of the bay and the pool as well as a good dining room and bar. We will be returning.
