Pinheiros Altos Golf Course located within the well-known Quinta do Lago estate, within the golfing world it is known as providing a mental challenge due to well placed hazards. Bordering the 18,300 hectares of Natural Park of Ria Formosa which provides a habitat for many species of birds and has much interesting vegetation.|Pinheiros Altos is a combination of 27 holes composed by three groups of 9 holes named Oliveiras (Olives), Pinheiros (Pines) and Sobreiros (Corks), respectively. This highly original and distinctive course possesses completely opposing characteristics. The original 18-hole course of Pinheiros Altos was well-known for its contrasting nines. While the first 9-hole are over rolling sandy undergrowth with gentle pine trees, the shorter second 9-hole runs through hills dotted with lakes that present the main obstacle for the golfers on this course.
There are a few concerns. The staff was terrific to say the least. The condition of the course a disappointment. Surprised to see the cart paths so poorly maintained. The greens were not in any kind of shape compared to the other 5 courses we played. Fairways had lost of dead grass, compared to the others. I understand it is off season, but in comparison the courses was the poorest shape. The course is a very nice old course, conditions were a surprise.
Course and paths in poor condition. Plants and grass growing in bunkers.
Golf course was enjoyable and in good order. (Better than San Lorenzo played the previous day) No Marshall and 4 hole gap in front of group (3 ball) in front of us who didn’t let us (2 ball) through. Last 3 holes of olive course had decent carries over water so added an extra dimension. No one at buggy collection on our arrival and told by one of team in pro shop to take a particular buggy which he pointed to from the shop window upstairs ( was dirty from previous occupants so just took a different one) When I enquired about ice for the drinks box was told to get my own from bar upstairs.
Smooth and friendly reception
Very nice course with very friendly staff.
Good days golf, great staff but some of the greens are in need of attention
We had a really good golfing day with everything going excellently to plsn
Post booking we had to change our schedule. This was accommodated without penalty so thank you teetimes.pt
Played the course again today for the 4th time in 2 weeks, I have been a little disappointed that I have not been able to play the Pines 9 hole course always being directed to play Corks and Olives. That aside I enjoyed the course, it is scared in some places by the wild fires from early this year. The staff are friendly and helpful. See you next year ????
Good value, friendly staff, interesting course(s).
