The design and lay out of Monte Rei are excellent. The staff were very nice and helpful. However, the condition of parts of the course and some of the greens (rough and bumpy) were certainly below the standards expected of a Jack Nicholas designed course especially for the price you are paying for a round of golf.

An unbelievable place which truly has a special feel!
The food in the restaurant was also very good!
Wasn’t quite so impressed with some levels of customer service, the dress code for the vistra restaurant was confusing and the staff in one restaurant made things difficult.
However, overall, a great experience and one we won’t forget.

Friendly people very hospitable. The reservation was known. The course was in good shape even for the time of year. Although I personally find it a bit boring but that could be due to the season. The red tees are not very exciting and it would be nice if ladies could tee off from the silver tee as well.
This is possible, of course
The clubhouse restaurant ''The Grill'' could do with a facelift. Especially at this time of year when you are inside, it is not really cosy.

Marvelous golf course with a splendid clubhouse. If you have not eaten in the 3 days previous to playing take advantage of the biggest and best tapas at Euros 15. The only negative is the pace of play, not far short of 5 hours.

The Quinta do Vale golf course, which has been designed with the interests of the adjacent property complex in mind, is sure to attract golfers of every level and is a strong candidate for hosting important international championships. Benamor golf course was the first golf course to open east of the Algarve, and lies just outside the city of Tavira. This course offers a pleasant experience, to players of all standards. The golf course is undulating but not hilly. The views of the mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South are stunning. The fairways of Bermuda Sahara and cool-season grasses provide good lies for wood and iron shots. Player's accuracy is particularly called upon by the architects' retention of as many of the old trees as feasible. These natural obstacles coupled with strategically placed bunkers and occasional water hazards make the course a worthwhile challenge. This golf course was selected as the Best Maintained Course in 2001 by the Portuguese Golf Federation. (...)

i went several times on holidays with Teetimes, played more than 20 courses with you.
This is the first time i will write something negative, and very negative. Not about the course, which is fine, but about the personnel.
Not all the personnel, but about the marshalls, who are not portuguese, who are impolite, rough, brutal, and discriminate.
I really think at that point that this course does not deserve to be in you short list.
Long story short, we played in 3h 45 min.
we played 13 holes attached to the team ahead of us.
tee box 14, the so called marshall was waiting for us, and without any welcoming sign was indicating me the yellow tee box. "sorry sir, i am playing from the white ones"
from there he followed us ALL THE HOLE without saying a word.
Mid all 15 he is yelling - no hi, no please, no thanks - at us - at least 40 meters away - to speed up cause we are 5 min disconnected from the team ahead.
It is too late for this kind of comment, the speed is already set, max we can gain 10 min.
We arrive at 18 in 3h45min, just after the team ahead of us.
And guess what, our marshall is there, waiting, on the terrasse .... for the team behind us arriving without a single remark 25 min later !!! unbelieveable !!
I have never seen this. And the worst in this , is that this marshall thinks he is right.
And such an event makes all minor things to pop up, like the rental trolleys.
They are more expensive than anywhere else. and on top of being expensive, are locked like supermarket trolleys where you need to place 1 euro . really ?
well, do not hesitate to contact me, cause this course wants members, not guests.
If they do not want this ressource, better for teetimes to send golfers to other places
Castro Marim golf course has breathtaking mountain, river and sea views, all part of the spectacular scenery to be enjoyed by those wishing to take walks merely throughout the surrounding countryside. The golf course has been designed to any level of golfer. The challenging aspects of the golf course, whilst providing interest to the expert, are also a test to the ability of the average handicap golfer and yet remain pleasurable to both. A driving range, chipping and putting green have also been built so as to provide ever important practice facilities. These are supervised by a team of golf professionals who are more than happy to assist you in improving your game. The entire golf course is irrigated by an underground so called 'leaky pipe' system. This enables golfers to play at times when courses with conventional aerial sprinklers would normally be unavailable. (...)

Staff all very helpful and friendly.
Greens in excellent condition but fairways very brown and quite often you were playing shots from earth with no grass.
Sand in bunkers disappointing as very gritty and not easy to get under the ball.
However we had a good day there with friends.
Would play the course again as we like the position and layout of it but would like to know the fairways were in better condition first b

We had o good round of golf with a very friendly couple from Holland! We love this golf course with is hilly fairways and doglegs with blind holes. The only negative I can think off was the buggy which didn’t had enough power from hole 14 onwards. We had to push the buggy uphill !!

In fact, there will be no houses, or villas, or apartments to distract you from your game: just you and a breathtaking nature. This was our second time playing Da Ria, the course is very good with two very different nine holes, the back nine are very picturesque and also quite challenging with the front nine being slightly up and down par 4s. Don’t like to be too critical as they are all nice to play. The only downside to our day was the pace of play which took us 5h 30mins , we were waiting on every shot!
We will definitely be playing again!

A difficult course with bunkers protecting most greens. Trees also get in the way, accuracy is paramount. The fairways and greens are in good condition. The worst part was the slow play, we were in a 2 ball with a buggy but the 4 ball in front (who it transpired were members) were painfully slow and never allowed us to 'play through', an absolute disgrace. The bar also suffered the same fate, service was appalling, we had a 'quick' drink (having waited an age to be served) and decided to forego food. Not recommended as a course.

Booking a teetime at 8:20 am Spanish time, when your customers staying in Portugal which is one hour behind, was not a good idea. When we corrsed the boarder at 7::30 we recognized that In Spain its already 8:30. Lukely the reception in Isla Canela has been very flexible and customer friendly and we have been able to tee off at 9:00 with a very nice couple.
Recolemdation pls. consider the time zones esp. in the case of cross boarder situations.
Tee Times reply: Dear Wolfgang
Thank you for your comments. We do have a note on all vouchers about the diference between Portuguese and Spain time . Glad you had a nice day out. Kind regards
