Silves Golf Course
Silves Golf Course is anything but the proverbial walk in the park. Target golf reigns supreme. A drive at the opening hole has to flirt with two water hazards on both flanks. A heroic and straight shot will reward the player with an easy uphill approach shot.|Silves encourages and rewards attacking play. It has a natural beauty and an elegant design. The excellent condition, all year round, is ideal for low scoring. A relentless test in precision, this course has no peers. It is the 'archetype' of man-sized parkland golf.|Most holes offer a spectacular mountain and valley view, overlooking palm trees and olive groves. You may even pick a few oranges or even figs along the way to the next tee. The severity of the bunkering is enough defence against the onslaught of the games big guns.

One of our favourite courses in the Algarve based on layout, condition and value for money.
Only complaint on our last visit was the starter allowed 5 separate 2-balls to play late afternoon rather than pairing groups in 4-balls so we had to wait at every hole as the pace of play was dictated by 4-balls 3 groups ahead.

Nice golfcourt. Very busy. We had to play in a flight of 4 people. But everything went smoothly. Minor point: no driving range and a very lousy putting green

Enjoyed the day, course in reasonable nick. Walked with a trolley today, got held up by a slow 4 ball, had to wait every hole on the back 9, wouldn't let us through. ????

Golf arranged at Espiche, Alamos and Silves - all excellent facilities, courses in good condition, reception staff very welcoming.
Only criticism is high cost of buggy at Silves €50.

Some interesting holes but not a high enough percentage to warrant regular playing. Overall condition was not great which was probably due to a particularly dry summer and recent rain over the last week.

Course was in great shape and really enjoyed playing it. Only downside was being paired up with a couple sharing one bag and not being able to play to a reasonable standard.

This a a good course with lots of elevation changes and elevated tees meaning some of the holes look spectacular from the tee. The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition but some of the greens had bare patches that had been sanded. At least the pin positions were placed away from these patches to make putting possible. The new clubhouse is a vast improvement on the old one and a great addition to the course.

*Undulated - Rolling fairways, not steep
*Dogleg - A few gentle dog legs
*Exposed - Generally wind playing a part on difficulty
*Buggy Recommended - If Essential
*Water hazards - a few water hazards ,especially on the par 5 , 13th hole
*Parkland - typicall algarve landsscape
*Signature Hole - 13th, par 5
*Comments - New course,reasonable value
